The Washington Open community has been offering the drama program since 1999. The Drama Program is open to all students in grades Kindergarten-5th grade, as well as current Parents, Alumni Parents and Students, and Staff.
Shining Stars
Kindergarten and 1st Graders perform a shorter show (~15 minutes in length). Rehearsals are once a week, and begin in October. Performances are usually the first weekend of December, on the stage at Washington Open elementary school.
Main Stage Kids (2nd-5th Grade & separate Adult cast)
Auditions are typically late September/early October, and cast lists are posted soon after. Rehearsals are 3-4 times weekly afterschool, and begin late October. Performances are two weekends, with each cast having four shows each. All casts perform at the Santa Clara High School Theater.
