Fundraisers
Check your Wednesday Bulletin every week to find out how you can support Washington Open with FUNdraisers put on by Washington Open Parent Faculty Group (WOPFG)!
Walk-a-Thon
The Walkathon is a unique fundraiser, distinct from other fundraising events promoted in the Wednesday Bulletin. Funds raised through the Walkathon are directed immediately back into the school’s operating budget, allowing the Principal to allocate resources where they are most needed.
In comparison, funds generated through Washington Open Parent Faculty Group (WOPFG) events are deposited into the WOPFG budget. These funds are used to support various aspects of the Washington Open program and are allocated at the discretion of the WOPFG board.
This annual spring event involves participation from all grade levels, as well as teachers and parents, and provides vital support for programs such as physical education, music, counseling, and other key areas that enrich our educational experience.
Students are encouraged to seek sponsorships from family and friends, either on a per-lap basis or as a one-time donation. We do not promote or encourage door-to-door solicitation. Any fundraising targets suggested per student or per family are intended as guidelines only, not obligations.
Additional details will be provided in an upcoming event flyer. We look forward to another successful and joyful Walkathon!
